DermCom benefits for skin

This ingredient harnesses the best of science and nature by improving communication between skin cells, a key element in the process of skin repair and rejuvenation. DermCom is derived from the crocus plant, one of the first plants to bloom in spring, making it a symbol of rejuvenation after a long winter. The Crocus chrysanthus produces creamy white blossoms with vibrant yellow stamens that are beautifully symbolic given the benefits the nutrients harvested from it can have over skin.

The plant’s bulbs store a wide range of nutrients that are responsible for the crocus’s ability to generate a new plant after a few seasons of dormancy.

DermCom takes advantage of these powerful nutrients to help defy aging, in part by stimulating communication between skin cells, which slows with age. As communication slows, the quality of skin’s extracellular matrix – or structure - declines, resulting in sagging skin that loses firmness, density and elasticity.

DermCom harnesses the nutrients in an extract from the Crocus chrysanthus bulb to support the age defying process.

Through extensive testing, DermCom was shown to stimulate keratinocytes, the cells that predominantly make up the outer layer of skin and are tasked with protecting skin from damage associated with pollutants and toxins, such as free radicals that damage skin cells and trigger signs of aging.

The boost in keratinocytes leads to a stronger barrier layer, which reduces the risk of damage to existing collagen and elastin proteins that keep skin looking supple, elastic and luminous. The increase in protective cells also helped stimulate new collagen and elastin in skin, improving the firmness and elasticity of skin – in as little as two weeks bases on studies from DermCom’s parent company.

Source and sustainability of DermCom

DermCom is derived from the bulb of the Crocus chrysanthus, commonly known as the snow crocus, since it is one of the first flowers to show itself during the growing season, often popping up when snow still covers the ground, and it is prolific from Greece to Bulgaria and Turkey.

Because these beauties propagate on their own, spreading quickly season after season, the bulb is sustainable, or it would not otherwise be used by Mibelle Group Biochemistry, the company behind DermCom, which has made sustainability and eco-friendly production part of its mission statement since its founding.
